Report Guidelines

Report your own genuine work experience

Use WorkCheck to describe an employment-related issue you personally experienced. Give a clear account of what happened, when it happened, the work arrangement and the issue you want understood. Separate what you observed from what you infer. Do not submit rumours or accounts on behalf of unrelated people.

Choose the correct ABN

Where possible, use the employer or payroll entity ABN on a payslip, contract or other employment document. Confirm it carefully: a workplace brand and the legal employer may differ.

With labour hire, the agency or payroll entity may employ or pay you while you work at a host business. Identify the entity relevant to your account and explain the arrangement without assuming the host is your employer. If uncertain, clarify the entity before submitting. Do not attach allegations to an unrelated ABN.

Choose issues and write neutrally

Categories include underpayment, unpaid Super, delayed wages, unpaid hours, payslip issues, tax issues, unfair deductions, workplace conduct and other employment issues. Super refers to Australian superannuation. Selecting a category is your description of a concern, not a finding of a legal breach.

Use dates, agreed arrangements, hours, payments and communications you can accurately describe. For example: “Payment for the hours I recorded on these dates had not arrived by this date.” Avoid insults, speculation, threats, personal attacks and naming unrelated individuals. Do not label a business a scammer, criminal or blacklisted employer.

Private employment evidence

Suitable documents may include payslips, employment contracts, timesheets and Super records relevant to your relationship with the reported entity. The current upload formats are PDF, JPG/JPEG and PNG, up to 10 MiB each and five files per report.

Evidence may support an employment relationship or an ABN connection; it does not necessarily establish the allegation. An ABN match alone does not prove document authenticity, wrongdoing or liability. Original evidence is private and available only through restricted review access.

Redact irrelevant personal details before uploading. Do not alter material in a misleading way. Keep the information needed to understand the employment/ABN relationship. Do not upload unnecessary TFNs, bank details, passport numbers, medical records or information about other people.

Protect privacy and avoid abuse

Never place private home addresses, personal phone numbers or emails, passport numbers, bank details, TFNs, medical details or similar unnecessary personal information in the public description. Avoid naming unrelated individuals. Public descriptions can identify you even though your account email and user ID are private.

Do not fabricate evidence, impersonate others, coordinate manipulation, submit knowingly false or defamatory accounts, threaten anyone, or use reports for retaliation or harassment. Discriminatory, abusive and spam content is not permitted.

Do not repeatedly submit the same issue to increase its visibility. Request correction or review of an existing report instead. Rate and duplicate protections apply.

What happens after submission

A report starts pending. A readable text PDF containing the exact valid target ABN may automatically publish an eligible new report. A different ABN or no reliable readable ABN leaves it pending for review. Images and scanned PDFs are not automatically read by an external OCR service in this MVP.

Reports may be approved/published, rejected, hidden, removed or reviewed again. Evidence status and moderation status are separate. Publication does not mean WorkCheck independently verified the allegation. WorkCheck may request further information and may limit abusive use.

Email support@workcheckau.com to request correction, removal or reconsideration under the Dispute / Review Policy. We may reasonably verify that a correction/removal requester is the original reporter. Businesses and authorised representatives can also request review. Requests are reviewed as reasonably practicable without a fixed response time or SLA. A dispute does not automatically hide a report or make private evidence or reporter identity public. Removal is not an unconditional deletion promise: the Privacy Policy retention targets and security, dispute, investigation, legal-obligation and legal-claim exceptions apply.
