Dispute / Review Policy

Who can request review

A reporter, affected employer/business, authorised representative or another person directly affected by content may request review. The aim is to consider accuracy, privacy, policy compliance and relevant context, not to determine legal liability. Publication and moderation decisions are not legal findings.

How to make a request

Email support@workcheckau.com. Ideally include the relevant ABN, the report ID or URL (or enough information to identify it), what is disputed and why, supporting information or documents where appropriate, your relationship to the employer, business or report, and the outcome sought.

A reporter may use this address to request correction or removal of their own report. We may require reasonable verification that the requester is the original reporter. Self-service editing/deletion is not currently available, and removal does not promise unconditional erasure where retention is reasonably necessary for security, disputes, legal obligations or legal claims.

We may privately request reasonable evidence of identity or authority if you claim to represent a business or employer. Provide a safe reply address privately. Do not post dispute materials as a new public report or send unnecessary sensitive documents. Legal demands and notices should currently also be sent to support@workcheckau.com unless Australian counsel later recommends a dedicated legal contact.

Review process

Requests will be reviewed as reasonably practicable. WorkCheck may consider the report, private evidence and other relevant context, and may ask the reporter or requester for more information. Depending on the circumstances and apparent risk, the report may remain visible, specific content may be redacted through an appropriate process, or the report may be temporarily hidden. We do not automatically hide every disputed report.

Private evidence is not publicly disclosed merely because a business disputes a report. Reporter identity and email remain private unless disclosure is legally required. Internal notes are not public. A concern may be explained using a privacy-protecting summary or redaction without disclosing private evidence or identifying the reporter.

Publication or approval is not a legal finding and does not mean WorkCheck independently verified the allegation. Evidence ABN matching establishes an employment-document/ABN connection only; it does not prove the allegation or authenticate every document.

Possible outcomes and reconsideration

Possible outcomes include no change, limited editing/redaction, hiding, removal, restoration, rejection of the report, or a request for further information. Editing/redaction requires an appropriate manually handled process; this draft does not imply an existing self-service editing tool. We may explain a decision without disclosing private material.

You may request reconsideration with a specific reason or materially new information. Repeated abusive, threatening, spam or bad-faith requests may be limited while preserving legitimate review access. Requests will be reviewed as reasonably practicable; no particular outcome, fixed response time or SLA is promised.

Records, safety and legal rights

Dispute materials and associated records are handled privately under the Privacy Policy. Public reports may remain while active or reasonably necessary for service operation. Original private evidence has a 90-day deletion target after permanent report removal/deletion once no active dispute, security investigation, legal obligation or legal claim reasonably requires it. Moderation, audit and security records normally have a target of up to 12 months where reasonably necessary, with longer retention for the exceptions in the Privacy Policy. These are operational targets, not legally prescribed periods; automated enforcement is not currently implemented.

Protected backups or provider systems may retain residual copies temporarily under normal deletion cycles where applicable; there is no guaranteed backup-deletion timeline. Removing public content does not erase third-party copies.

WorkCheck is not a court, regulator or professional adviser. This process does not replace qualified advice or prevent anyone from exercising legal rights or contacting an appropriate authority. Do not rely on this process for urgent assistance or assume it pauses a legal deadline.
